Welcome to Diego Silang Movement

A call to amend RA 9262 otherwise known as Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, and a call for the government to come up with a better law providing EQUAL PROTECTION for all.

Domestic Violence is not a gender issue. It happens to all. Let's help stop Domestic Violence now!

We need your help too!

Men's Rights Now

After days of research, I'm starting to realize that we are not alone. Fighting for men's rights is a world wide phenomenon and with some sites of this international organizations hitting around a hundred thousand hits a month, we are now being heard and we are not alone. While thousand of studies and hundreds of organizations are being created worldwide for women's rights, we seldom hear about ordinary men, gays & lesbians. Are we so blinded by the this old notion that women are weak that we continuously forget about the others? Are we saying that men are mere perpetrators of this crime and they don't need protection or help from the governement? Now I say this is completely BS.

Equal protection, equal oppurtunity. This is what we want, and this is what we need.

The idea to come up with an organization such as theDiego Silang movement, is to let others be aware that the Andres we came to know in this country needs protection and help from the government and other soci-civic organizations too. This is an appeal that while we have created laws to protect our women and children specifically RA 9262, the law is actually a direct attack to the sanctity of marriage and is actually gearing towards the destruction of our families.

We condone violence as much as you do, but men need your help too. RA 9262 specifically states the benefits a women can get and the aid the governemnt shall provide. But how about us? What can the government do if we are falsely accused? What can the government do if they kicked us out of our homes, stripped of property, worst, of fatherhood?

If one is proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt, by all means, let them rot in jail. But what if the law is being used for other reasons than justice? Where can we go? Who will represent us if we can't avail the services of a lawyer? The answer is no one. No organization or government institution in this country advocates men's rights. We are all alone.

Several international organizations including the National Coalition of Free Men and Father's for Justice among others are both gearing up to empower men and other genders left alone to rot by this system.

This is the main goal of the Diego Silang Movement. We will not stop till the creation of a fair system by the government and that they heed our voices. We vow to assist those in need of assistance, be it men, women, gays or lesbians. We vow to fight for the abolition of RA 9262 till the government came up with a better law protecting all genders.

Domestic violence is not just a woman's issue, this is OUR ISSUE.

My brother is facing a case filed by his live in partner for 2 years and 2 months, i can attest that what happened sometime ds year was out of self defense and due to the several times of misbehavior of the girl to provoke my brother to punch her and it did happen. She put my brother to jail for roughly 2 days, very traumatic actually for my brother. He barely eat and sleep after that incident( who would not be when your a law abiding citizen and your put to jail without proper questioning) The girl for several times threaten my brother with a knife.
As a girl im a bit mad and feel pity for those real victims of domestic violence for that's the true essence of RA 9262, because now when i heard women claiming that they were abused, doubts would pop up in my mind as to the real score why such violence happen if ever there really was violence.
Im a woman .......but fairness and justice must be served regardless of gender after all were all Filipinos entitled of equal rights....

Hi. I was reading article about RA 9262 not becuase i would file for one, it's because my Father-in-law was accused by this charges and now in jail... we are looking for ways and things that can prove him "not guilty" because we know that even though he is now separated (Not-legally THOUGH) with my FREAKINGLY ANNOYING GOLD DIGGER MOTHER IN LAW he still supported them financially and help them in any means possible. Now without my father-in-law's knowledge he was charged and accused of RA 9262 and is in jail. can you help us look for means to prove him wrong we have proofs and that this mother-in-law of mine had been receiving support and is sometimes the one being abusive and harassing and embarrassing him in public. please email me.. felycris_f10@yahoo.com

Can you please make an official group in Facebook that we could like and become a member in so we could easily push with this campaign? My son is a victim of RA 9262 ... a very unfair and bias law. His GF was influenced by a "VAWC advocate". The intervention of somebody whose motive was money in the negotiation. My son was only 19 and it was his first g.f. who claimed abused...the lies made us all crazy...that I despise RA 9262 anymore.

I am a mother whose son is a victim so my suggestion is that in the Facebook page that u will create, please allow for some photos, testimonies, and articles there and esp. cited statistics that will support our cause...I am really glad to know your group...we have a voice AT LAST! I know that other women have the same sentiments too but needs a formal venue to air them out...WE GO FOR EQUAL RIGHTS B4 THE LAW!

Good Afternoon! I am Alvin Alcantara, a third year student from UP Baguio. I am planning to study Husband Battering in the Philippines as my undergraduate thesis. Regarding this one, I am asking for your help in order for me to finish my study successfully. Helps like testimonies regarding experiences of a battered husband would be a great study. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you in advance.
